It wasn't long ago that HTC teased a new wearable that would come to market sometime in 2015. The HTC Grip would ultimately never come to market, with the company stating that they would release something new at a later date. HTC has come back in a huge way for CES, announcing a suite of new products in partnership with Under Armour dubbed the 'UA HealthBox'.
The UA HealthBox is a unique approach to wellness and fitness. The box offers a smart scale (UA Scale), a fitness band (UA Band) and heart rate monitor (UA Heart Rate). The pieces are intended to work together to provide the most comprehensive system that will allow users to better manage health and fitness goals.
Each piece is beautifully crafted and seems fairly reliable. HTC and Under Armour will also have an app that will keep track of all the data. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to check out the app, as it was not a live unit and only a demo.
The UA Healthbox is now available for pre-order in the U.S. on the HTC and Under Armour website for a price of $400 USD. The units will be officially go on sale on January 22nd, with a global launch slated for some time in 2016.
