Long-standing system information software CPU-Z has added support for six new processors from Intel. The chips are from Intel's long-rumored ninth-generation Core processor family, and CPU-Z's latest update practically confirms its existence with potential information discovered about the lineup.
Amongst other updates, CPU-Z 1.86 now detects Intel's 9900K, 9700K, 9600K, 9600, 9500, and 9400 processors. CPU-Z does not specify whether these products belong to the i5 or i7 lines, but considering the 8400 was part of an i5 lineup in the eighth-generation "Coffee Lake" family, one may speculate that the added products are at least i5 and above.
The rumor mill has suggested that the top of the line 9900K is an octa-core, 16-thread processor with an i9 moniker, while the 9700K is an i7 with eight cores but, unusually, without hyperthreading. This remains largely consistent with the latest leak from the Taiwanese outlet, Benchlife, the content from which can be seen below.
The exact release window of these CPUs still remains unclear, although a recent leak indicated a possible October release of the 9900K, 9700K, and 9600K. With CPU-Z acknowledging and recognizing the product family, hopefully, we won't have to wait long until we see the actual product on the market.
