Gaming news round-up: October 29-30

We hope all of you have enjoyed the weekend. Tomorrow is officially Halloween so we hope that all of the spirits and ghosts that might be roaming around are friendly to you. In the meantime let's look at some gaming news that popped up over the last two days:

Rainbow Six: Patriots about to be revealed? - Ubisoft has apparently registered web site domains with the Rainbow Six: Patriots title and it could officially reveal the next game in the tactical shooter series sometime in November.

Lots of young kids play console games - According to a new study by Common Sense Media, 51 percent of US kids age eight years and younger have played a console game at least once.

Next Resident Evil game gets release date - Capcom has announced that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be released on March 20, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles; the PC version will be released at a later date.

GameStop to start gaming tablet pilot program - The game retailer will start selling Android-based tablets in 200 of its stores this fall as a pilot program to see if there is demand for such a product in its stores. The tablets would be preloaded with free games along with support for an optional wireless controller.

Australia could wait two more years for an adult video game rating - Even though the country's district attorneys agreed in principle last summer to finally offer an R18+ video game rating, it might still have to go through even more government bureaucracy before it becomes final.
