The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max pre-orders are open [Update]

The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max were both unveiled earlier in the week and it's almost that time when you'll be able to place your pre-order, which begins early tomorrow morning.

If this is your first rodeo and you're aiming to secure an iPhone on release day, you'll probably want to stay up a little later tonight and order when it first becomes available. At 12:01am PT, Apple and other wireless carriers will make the phone available in their systems, allowing you to choose your desired model, color, and size.

What makes Apple's system so enticing is that you can now head to the website, choose the options you want and have that model waiting in your cart. So when the pre-order opens, you just make a few clicks, and you're done. If you want the best possible results, it has been generally recommended to use the Apple Store app available on iOS. If you're using Apple's Upgrade Program, be sure to head into your account now to verify you are eligible. If you're an iPhone X owner or haven't fulfilled a 12-month cycle, you will most likely need to make an extra payment to unlock your ability to pre-order tonight.

Remember, this is only a phone, so if you don't want to stay up late and would rather get a good night's sleep, that's okay. You'll still be able to pre-order in the morning, you might just be looking at a delivery date that is farther out than the September 21 release date. As for pricing of the phones, the iPhone Xs 64GB will start at $999, with the 256GB costing $1,149, and the 512GB variant costing $1,349. The iPhone Xs Max will start at $1,099 for the 64GB unit, $1,249 for the 256GB model, and will cost $1,449 for the 512GB variant.

The pre-orders will start at 12:01am PT on September 14 and will be available for purchase from Apple and other retail channels on September 21.
