HSBC UK mobile banking is 'recovering' following a glitch, TSB Bank outages linger

Two of the largest financial institutions in the UK have suffered widespread outages to their digital banking services today. London-based HSBC revealed via its Twitter account, however, that some services are back to normal after acknowledging that customers encountered momentary disruptions to their mobile banking experience.

The problem seems to be limited to its mobile app, however, and HSBC is advising customers to use its online banking services via a web browser while the problem persists. Those who have urgent queries to the bank are also advised to call HSBC's customer care at 03457 404 404.

Meanwhile, TSB Bank is still working to fix a glitch that affects its mobile app and internet banking services. The bank made the disclosure on Twitter:

It remains unclear as of this time what has caused the separate outages and how many customers are affected. Both banking companies promised to provide updates once the issues are resolved. The latest disruption highlights a growing concern over the stability and security of digital banking services at least in the UK.
