New Surface Studio pre-orders are now shipping in 'early 2017'

After Microsoft announced the Surface Studio on Wednesday, the company opened up pre-orders for its new all-in-one right away, promising "limited quantities" at launch. Those devices were slated to ship on December 15, but due to its unsurprising popularity, the Microsoft Store now says that if you pre-order a Surface Studio, it won't ship until 'early 2017'.

Of course, early 2017 could be three weeks after the original shipping date, or it could be over six months. The ambiguous language is most likely on purpose due to the limited availability of the device.

The other PC that Microsoft announced last week - the Surface Book with Performance Base - is still slated to ship on its release date if you pre-order it now, which would be November 10.

If you pre-order a Surface Studio, it will also come with a free Surface Dial, which is a $99.99 value. Your options are the base model, which has a Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 1TB of storage for $2,999, the mid-tier model, which has a Core i7, 16GB RAM, and 1TB of storage for $3,499, and the high end model, which has a Core i7, 32GB RAM, and 2TB of storage for $4,199.

You can pre-order your Surface Studio right here.
