Project Scorpio could arrive priced at $499

We are only a few hours away from the Xbox E3 Briefing that will take place at 2pm PT, but it looks like Geoff Keighley, game journalist and host of the annual The Game Awards, has stated that he knows that Project Scorpio will be priced at $499.

Now, despite stating with confidence the price of Microsoft's upcoming console, he does also add a disclaimer that unless something changes last minute, that it should be announced at this price. The $499 price is nothing new, with murmurs of that price point being spoken of by many well-connected journalists over the past few weeks.

Although the price of Project Scorpio could be a deal breaker for some, the firm does have an alternative option in place with the Xbox One S. The One S recently received a $50 price cut, which makes it a much more enticing at $249. Naturally, we don't know if Keighley is correct, but luckily we won't have to wait long to find out.
