Rage 2, the open-world shooter that spawned out of Avalanche Studios and id Software, is about to receive its first expansion Rise of the Ghosts later this month. The expansion was announced during E3 earlier this year, and although it did suffer a bit of a delay, it will be made available across all platforms on September 26.
The expansion carries a new region named Overgrown City for Ranger Walker to assault featuring the Ghosts. These are a new cannibalistic "Feltrite-infused" faction that's prepping to invade the wasteland, prompting the player to put a stop to this in a new questline.
As for new toys, there is a new Feltrite Laser Launcher for incinerating enemies while the new Void ability will let players suspend them in mid-air or even make their heads explode. A new Ghost motorcycle is coming in as well, which can only be found in the new region.
The Rise of the Ghosts expansion will cost 1500 Rage Coins to purchase through the Rage 2 in-game store, amounting to $15. Rage 2 Digital Deluxe owners will be getting the expansion for free. Following this release, the game also is slated to receive another expansion later this year, although no specific details or dates have been announced yet.
