Rez Infinite is now available for Daydream Android handsets

If you have never had the pleasure of experiencing Rez, it's a rail shooter that is enhanced with upbeat music and looks incredible to boot. The first incarnation of the game was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast and has since been remastered for newer consoles. The latest remaster is Rez Infinite, which was originally released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and Microsoft Windows. Now that same game is arriving on the Google Play Store offering compatibility with Daydream handsets.

What makes the Infinite version of the game unique is the addition of Area X. The new level was designed from the ground up to leverage the Unreal Engine and, for the first time, gives players complete freedom when traveling. As previously mentioned, Rez is a game that has typically been on rails, in the new level, players get to experience 360-degrees of movement, which is quite a feeling when immersed in VR. Although this game is considered a classic by some, the cost of owning it won't come cheap. It is available as a free download on the Google Play Store, but to fully unlock the game you will have to pay $9.99.
