Samsung's The Premiere is a 4K short-throw projector with HDR10+ support

As this year's IFA is still underway, companies are still introducing new products, and Samsung today announced The Premiere, a 4K Ultra Short Throw projector. The Premiere fits into Samsung's lineup of lifestyle products, which also includes products like The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace TVs, and just like those products, it does run Samsung's Smart TV platform.

There are actually two models of The Premiere, the LSP9T and the LSP7T, with the former being the higher-end of the two. In addition to 4K support, the LSP9T is the world's first projector to be HDR10+ certified, and its light has a brightness of 2,800 ANSI lumens. It can project images up to 130 inches in size, slightly above the 120-inch image that the LSP7T can produce. Samsung says the projector can be placed directly in front of a wall, but didn't give any specifics on the minimum distance necessary for it to project a usable image.

For audio, The Premiere has built-in woofers and Acoustic Beam surround sound, so you don't necessarily need a separate audio setup to watch content.

The Premiere also has a Filmmaker mode, which is supposed to help users view movies as the directors designed them to be viewed. Aside from all the services available on Samsung's Smart TV platform, the projector can also be used for screen mirroring.

Samsung didn't reveal pricing or availability for The Premiere, but we should hear more in the future.
