Microsoft first announced the Surface Laptop 3 back in October, and the second revision of the product is a big one. For one thing, it's the first one to include a 15-inch version, but the 13.5-inch model was reengineered as well with removable storage and better weight distribution.
Now, I've got my hands on the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3, which is also the first Surface to include an AMD Ryzen processor. More specifically, it's a custom AMD Ryzen 7 3780U Microsoft Surface Edition. Like the SQ1 in the Surface Pro X, it has optimizations for Surface, and also like the SQ1, Microsoft isn't saying what those optimizations are.
This is also the first generation that includes a USB Type-C port. There are three ports on the Laptop 3, all of which are USB 3.1 Gen 1. They vary in form factor though, including Surface Connect, USB Type-A, and USB Type-C.
All-in-all, the Surface Laptop 3 15 seems pretty great so far. The aluminum build feels solid and looks premium. It's the experience that I've come to expect from Surface Laptop, but with a larger, equally as beautiful screen.
