You can now use AirPlay to stream YouTube TV to your Apple TV from an iPad or iPhone

YouTube TV made its debut in February and finally made its way to certain markets earlier last month. While this an exciting new option for those that want to cut the cord, the service didn't offer an app for those that wanted to take advantage of it on their Apple TVs. Although there still isn't an app available for tvOS, you can now AirPlay YouTube TV from your iPhone or iPad.

In the latest update to the YouTube TV app, those that are using a supported device will be able to broadcast to their Apple TVs using AirPlay. If unfamiliar with AirPlay, it is a feature that is exclusive to Apple devices that allows users to stream content from one device to another as long as they are on the same network. If you need more details on how to set it up, you can head to the Apple website for assistance.

Since the YouTube TV service is only available to those located in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Philadelphia this hurdle will most likely not affect many. But, it's good to know that Apple users have some kind of option, albeit a bit convoluted.
