Samsung is having a good year so far with its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The handsets sold millions out of the gate and seem poised to dominate the market. While they have received excellent marks in reviews, including our own, it still isn't a valid replacement for those that long for a Galaxy Note7 replacement. Luckily, the firm is still committed to the line, even offering confirmation in January that a successor was in the works and that it would be "better, safer, and very innovative".
While we have seen leaks of an alleged front glass panel of the Galaxy Note8, we are now getting a good look at the device from all sides, thanks to a newly released render. It comes as no surprise that it looks similar to the Galaxy S8, although it does look to be a bit wider and has an S Pen stylus stored in the bottom area.
Perhaps the most interesting part is the dual camera sensors that can be found on the rear. If this feature does come to fruition, it will be the first top-tier Samsung handset to offer dual camera sensors. Although it would have been nice to see them integrate the fingerprint reader into the display, we know from a report earlier in the month, that the firm was unable to perfect the technology in time for launch. Because of this, we can see that the reader has been located on the rear, next to the camera, just like on the Galaxy S8.
If there is one thing that does look a bit suspicious, it is the large border that can be seen around the display on the top half of the device. The firm has made huge strides when it comes to its displays and offers some of the thinnest bezels in the industry. Although there could be some technical reasons for this, it does seem a bit backward.
Luckily, we might not have to wait long, since there has been a rumor that Samsung could launch the Galaxy Note8 at an Unpacked event sometime in August.
