Amazon rolls out Prime Video profiles worldwide [Update]

Amazon introduced profiles to its Prime Video streaming service earlier this year. However, the availability of that feature was limited only to a few countries.

Today, Amazon announced the global availability of Prime Video profiles, a feature that has long been available on other streaming services such as Netflix. It allows users who share Prime accounts to set up personalized profiles where they can create their own Watchlist, monitor their viewing progress, and see customized recommendations of movies and TV shows based on individual activity.

Users can create up to six profiles within a single Amazon account, consisting of one primary profile plus five additional profiles, which can be a mix of regular or Kids profiles. Content for a Kids profile will be age-appropriate, of course.

Users can create and manage their profiles on the Prime Video app for Android and iOS, via the web, on 10th-gen or higher Fire tablets, or on the Fire TV version of the app. Additionally, profiles can be managed using select "living room" devices like the PlayStation 4. The feature won't be immediately available to everyone yet, as it's rolling out in phases.

Update: Amazon told Neowin that customers may stream only up to three videos simultaneously using the same Amazon account. Also, users may stream the same video to no more than two devices at a time.
