It has been a busy month for OnePlus, revealing its next handset OnePlus 5T, along with pushing Android 8.0 Oreo updates to its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Now, the firm has shed some additional light on the future, offering details on what will and will not be coming to its supported handsets.
According to a forum post, OnePlus will roll out Android 8.1 on its OnePlus 3 and 3T. There isn't a timetable of when this will arrive, but it's good to know that there will be support for its older devices. There was also a question as to whether the firm would be supporting Project Treble, to which the company responded that it would not. While this process is meant to expedite the update of handsets to a newer version of an OS, OnePlus stated it does not have plans to implement it on any current units.
OnePlus also discussed why it hasn't updated its display panels to a higher resolution, and that it probably wouldn't be using a dual speaker setup on its devices.
