Four days after the official Windows 11 announcement, Microsoft released the first build to Insiders in the Dev Channel with version 22000.51. We took a brief tour around the new OS to explore what's on offer. And when Microsoft said at its announcement that there was a major redesign of the OS, it seems it wasn't joking around and even the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) has been tweaked which now means Black Screen of Death as discovered by YouTuber Martin Nobel.
Other than the color of the background itself, there doesn't seem to be anything else different from what we are already familiar with. However, for now, at least, we can not say for sure if this change will also be present in the final release version of Windows 11 when it becomes available to all users later this year.
If you recall, the company made a similar change back in 2016 when it had introduced the Green Screen of Death for Insider preview builds. According to Microsoft, this was done to make it easier to distinguish errors on preview builds from final stable versions. And the Redmond giant may be applying the same reasoning here too for the Windows 11 previews.
