Opera has announced that it joined hands with the Foundation for the Interwallet Operability (FIO), and has concluded the integration of the FIO Protocol in its flagship Android browser. Through this integration, Opera shows its commitment to making crypto more accessible to its users by offering a single point of access to highly usable and interoperable web3 products. Opera will enable people to "identify themselves and transact with easily-memorized handles," with this integration.
The FIO Protocol is an open-source, decentralized resource that supports all blockchains, and employs human-readable Crypto Handles to replace the risk, and complexity of transacting with long-string public wallet addresses. With the FIO Protocol, Opera for Android users can now send and receive digital currency to and from their Opera Crypto Wallet with the use of FIO Crypto Handles. Users can register their @opera FIO Crypto Handle free of charge.

Users can set up their FIO wallet handle by clicking on the O icon at the bottom right of the screen and then selecting Crypto Wallet from the settings where they will be able to register their FIO crypto wallet handle. FIO will be available in the Crypto Browser in the future.
