Android Nougat finally rolls out to T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+

T-Mobile was the only carrier left yet to update the Galaxy S6 edge+ to Nougat 7.0 after rolling it out for the Note5 last week, something Sprint, AT&T and Verizon elected to update together during the first half of April. The update comes in at 1,378mb and bumps the firmware version up to G928TUVU4EQC6, it also includes the March security update.

Due to the fact the update did not get rolled out alongside the T-Mobile Note5 variant, users took to Twitter to find out why, and late last week the uncarrier's product guy @askdes confirmed it would start rolling out "early" this week.

Aside from the standard features that come with Nougat, Samsung is including its own layer of additional functionality. You'll get new battery management options, which "helps maximize your battery's potential." There's also a Performance Mode, which lets you choose between "Optimized, Game, Entertainment, and High" performance options.

There are some camera improvements as well; you'll be able to preview different Effects while taking a picture by swiping to the left. Along with that, there's an improved keyboard with better language predictions.

While Android 7.0 Nougat was released over eight months ago, it's still on less than 5% of devices. In fact, the latest version, 7.1, didn't even show any growth in last month's usage breakdown, remaining stagnant at 0.4%.

The update is available right now, and you can check by going to Settings > About device > Download updates manually. T-Mobile has not yet updated it's Nougat support page for the S6 edge+, which still shows it in "Manufacturer Development".
