Gearbox Software today announced the first story expansion that's coming to Borderlands 3, Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. Unlike usual heists that involves stealth and finesse, however, this campaign will entail shooting through scores of security forces and casino-goers, all to reach the vault at the end in this brand new area.
Some of the security forces will consist of the familiar Hyperion robots from Pandora, leftovers from the late Handsome Jack's age. In addition to the new campaign missions, there are also side missions, new enemy types, bosses, and more included in the expansion. The safe being targetted in the casino will have new Legendary loot also, alongside Eridium and cash.
Although enemies and the new loot drops will scale to player levels, for providing an optimal challenge, vault hunters will need to have access to Sanctuary III before embarking on this expansion's contents.
The Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot expansion is releasing on December 19 on PC via Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It is included with the Borderlands 3 season pass, which is slated to deliver four new expansions, including this heist, in total.
