Samsung started rolling out a new firmware update yesterday that was initially only available in Germany, but now, according to SamMobile, it is starting to arrive in more markets. This update is not to be confused with the one that got pushed out even before the handsets were in the hands of users, and it's unclear if this update addresses touch screen issues both the S9 and the larger S9+ are reportedly experiencing.
The firmware, which does not include the Android March security update, carries the build number XXU1ARCC (for the Galaxy S9) and is said to bring improvements to call stability and wallpaper quality. The size of the update will vary by country and carrier, but it will be between 250 MB and 350 MB.
To find out if the new update is available for your Galaxy S9 or S9+, go into the phone’s settings, tap Software update, followed by Download updates manually. If it isn't available to you yet, or you prefer to get it manually, SamMobile has already saved the firmware to its database.
