Following the Xbox One launch, Cities: Skylines announced for PlayStation 4

Cities: Skylines, the prominent city builder by Paradox Interactive had its first foray into the console space back in April with its Xbox One Edition. Originally a PC exclusive title, the game was well received on the Microsoft console, and now the publisher has announced the arrival of a PlayStation 4 version.

The announcement arrived via a brand new trailer, seen above, showcasing some footage of building up a city using gamepad controls. For those unfamiliar with the game, its description, provided by Paradox Interactive, is as follows:

Cities: Skylines – PlayStation®4 Edition puts you in charge of a growing city – from the ground-breaking of its first streets to the ever-changing needs of thousands of citizens. Design, build, and manage the city of your dreams, from public services to civic policies, and challenge yourself to grow from a simple town to a bustling metropolitan hub.

Just as with the Xbox One version, the game's PlayStation 4 edition will arrive with the After Dark expansion for free. Among other features, the expansion adds a day-night cycle to the game, which affects various factors of cities that players will be building. These include varying traffic flow rates depending on the time of day and new commercial areas that are specialized for leisure and tourism.

The upcoming Cities: Skylines PlayStation 4 Edition is slated to drop on August 15, 2017.
