Halo Infinite might be launching on December 8, per Microsoft Store leak

Microsoft Store has been the source of many leaks in the past, and this time it may have spoiled the release date announcement of Halo Infinite. Spotted by the folks over at Aggiornamenti Lumia, the title's official store page on the Microsoft Store had gone through an update earlier today that changed the placeholder with a December 8 launch date.

The store page has since been cleaned out of all the new information, including a revised description and some new screenshots, according to the source.

Before the lengthy delay, the title was going to land as an Xbox Series X|S launch title last year in November. Shortly after a campaign reveal that garnered a mixed response from fans, 343 Industries delayed the title, and subsequently gave it a holiday 2021 launch window. Since then, the developer has released a series of studio updates and begun technical tests for the multiplayer.

However, even with the year-long delay, the game will be launching without a couple of key features, them being campaign cooperative play and the Forge level editor.

As always, take the release date information with a grain of salt until something official materializes out of Microsoft or 343 Industries. Store page mistakes are common, especially when updates are happening in the background, and this might be another one of them. Still, there have been rumors circulating regarding a Halo Infinite appearance during the gamescom: Opening Night Live showcase later today. If it does appear there, a release date confirmation may be what's in the cards.
