Here's how to watch The Game Awards 2018 event later today

The fifth annual Game Awards ceremony is happening later today at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, giving the spotlight to some of the best games that have come out this year. However, alongside the awards we will also get some highly-anticipated new trailers, announcements, and reveals for upcoming games.

The event is slated to begin at 5:30pm PST / 8:30pm EST / 1:30am GMT and basically almost every online service available will be streaming it. There's the usual YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, and Mixer showings, which are joined by SteamTV, Xbox, PlayStation, and more. Head over here to see the full list.

All of the nominees for this year's awards can be found on the official website, coming from 21 categories. Looking at The Game of the Year award, it has six contenders this year - Red Dead Redemption 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Monster Hunter: World, and Celeste.

As for the new announcements, we already know that Obsidian Entertainment's next RPG will get revealed during the event, which will be joined by the next Far Cry game announcement. Epic Games has its upcoming digital game store to show off as well. Higher-ups from Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo will be present on stage, too.

As for unconfirmed reports, we could see the next Alien game being announced during the presentation, judging by a few teasers that have dropped. Other rumors that have been circulating say a new Dragon Age reveal and maybe even Borderlands 3 could be in the cards.
