Microsoft Stream for Android and iOS updated with new features

Microsoft launched Stream, an enterprise video management tool, back in 2017. The service was the successor to Office 365 Video and enabled enterprises to upload, view, manage, and share videos within the organization. The app on Android and iOS received updates that increased integration with other Microsoft services and brought improvements such as voice enhancements.

Now, a new update that is rolling out to users for the Stream app (spotted by OnMSFT) on both platforms is bringing more improvements to the video capture process. The enhancements include the ability to record real-time videos right off the camera on the device, an option to switch between the front and rear-facing cameras, and the ability to annotate on the videos before, during, or after a recording has been captured.

The changelog for the iOS and Android versions is almost the same, with the only addition to the iOS app being the ability to trim a video to shorten its length. Here is the complete changelog:

  • harness the power of your camera to record real-time video
  • swap between rear- and front-facing cameras while recording
  • annotate before, during, or after a recording
  • make stickers from photos
  • view clips in chronological order
  • drag-n-drop any clip to your recording to stitch into a new order
  • trim to shorten the overall length (iOS only)
  • access all uploaded videos from your company’s servers through the app

The update should begin showing up to users on both platforms soon since it started rolling out over the week. You can head to the Google Play Store here or the Apple App Store here to download the app.
