Planet Coaster is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next year

Announced during the special X019 Inside Xbox stream earlier today, Planet Coaster is getting a console release, heading to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next year. See Frontier Development's quirky-as-usual announcement trailer up above.

The theme park construction and management game released on PC in 2016, heralding powerful building tools that let players go wild with their creations. The same customization and strategy options will be available on the new console version, with it even having every piece of free content and feature that have arrived to the PC version since its launch.

For those unfamiliar with the game and its mechanics, here's a short description straight from the developer:

Build jaw dropping, white knuckle rollercoasters that challenge the law of physics and stomachs alike, place an empire of food, gift and merchandise shops, add exhilarating rides and hire a crack team of coaster park staff to help deliver the ultimate experience for visitors in this thrilling management simulation.

There isn't a firm release date attached to this release just yet, with Frontier Developments simply saying that Planet Coaster: Console Edition is launching on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in the summer of 2020.
