Apple dominated the global smartphone market in 2022, collecting its highest ever operating profit of 85% and 48% of revenue from smartphone sales, according to Counterpoint Research.
IDC has released its quarterly report on the state of the smartphone market, showcasing overall growth for the industry, with Huawei's sanctions making way for other manufacturers to grow.
A new research suggests that Samsung is set to retain the highest percentage share (21%) of the smartphone market, followed by Apple. It adds that Huawei is expected to see a sharp decline in 2021.
"Gone are the days when a BlackBerry OS, Symbian, or Windows Mobile could make a significant impact. It is clear that there will only be two smartphone ecosystems moving forward - iOS and Android."
