Twitter appears to be rolling out a tweaked main page for users that offers quicker navigation to certain pages, no longer requiring multiple clicks on the top navigation bar. Not all accounts have the new sidebar yet, though multiple accounts among Neowin staff have already been migrated to the new interface.
In a revamped left sidebar, seen below, some users now have a new section that adds quick access to mentions, direct messages, lists, network activity and top stories. The "top stories" link takes users to the current discover section, while the "network activity" link takes users to the activity subsection of discover.
Perhaps most notable about the interface is that it makes direct messages and lists available within a single click; previously, users had to click on the settings wheel at the top right of the navigation bar before seeing either option.
Neowin has contacted Twitter to see if the new interface is being rolled out to all users or is merely being tested; this article will be updated if and when a response is received.
