HMD Global - the company developing Nokia-branded handsets, built by Foxconn under license by the Finnish tech giant - unveiled its first new smartphone in January. The Nokia 6 launched first in China, before heading to other markets, including India earlier this month.
Today, HMD announced that the mid-range device will launch in the United States next month. "It brings us great pleasure to introduce a new generation of US fans to Nokia phones," HMD's Maurizio Angelone said today, "while offering existing fans the same unparalleled and high quality Nokia phone experience they have come to love over the years."
Of course, that experience will differ considerably from the most recent Nokia smartphones, which ran Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, whereas the Nokia 6 is an Android device.
Key specs of the Nokia 6 include:

HMD said that the Nokia 6 will be sold exclusively through Amazon in the US, when it launches there in July. Priced at $229, it will be offered in Matte Black and Silver initially, but Copper and Tempered Blue color options will be available "later this summer".
Bear in mind, however, that the device will not support Verizon and Sprint's CDMA networks. The company says that T-Mobile's network will be fully supported; but only "partial" support - excluding bands 29 and 30 - will be available for AT&T's 4G LTE data services.
The Nokia 6 launched with Android 7.0 Nougat, but HMD released Android 7.1.1 for the device in April. The company has also promised to upgrade the 6, along with its Nokia 3 and 5 smartphone siblings, to Android O when it becomes available later this year.
