Panos Panay names Amanda Langowski as new head of the Windows Insider Program

It's been nearly six months since Dona Sarkar announced that she'd be stepping down as head of the Windows Insider Program, and enthusiasts have wondered when a replacement would be named. That day is today, and the new Windows Insider chief is Amanda Langowski, who's been with Microsoft for 20 years.

In that time, Langowski has been working on Windows in some way the entire time. In fact, according to her LinkedIn profile, she started out as program manager for "Windows, beta & release programs", so it would seem that things have come full-circle. Of course, Windows 10 is a long way from Windows ME.

She then went on to work as a Program Manager Lead and Senior Program Manager Lead for Windows Mobile and Windows Phone, and then she was Principal Program Manager Lead for Windows and Devices. Since 2016, Langowski has been Principal Program Manager for Windows Fundamentals, Flighting Platforms & Operations.

Langowski was given the title by Panos Panay, who was recently promoted from being in charge of hardware to handling all Windows and hardware.

Amanda Langowski is the third person to lead the Windows Insider Program team. The first was Gabriel Aul, and he eventually stepped down to make room for Dona Sarkar. Sarkar is now advocating for the Power Platform.

You can expect to hear more from Langowski on Twitter, which seems to be the common platform for communicating with the Windows Insider Program. You can find her here.
