$100 Bounty on iPods

Dell wants your old iPod and is willing to pay to get it.

On Wednesday, Dell unveiled an offer that grants music customers a $100 rebate on a 15GB Digital Jukebox when they send it an Apple Computer iPod to be recycled.

The rebate is designed to woo would-be repeat iPod buyers and also raise the profile of the Dell DJ. Already in it's third year, the Apple iPod is the leading portable music player.

Dell claims that lower prices price and longer-lasting batteries are two things that distinguish the Digital Jukebox from the iPod.

Apple's 15GB iPod costs $299 which lasts for only plays continuously for seven hours compared to the Dell DJ at $199 and said to play continuously for 20 hours.
