A new image surfaces showing off an alleged new color of Samsung's Galaxy S8 [Update]

When Samsung initially unveiled its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets, they were offered in three colors: Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, and Orchid Gray. The handset has seen a lot of success in a short time, selling over five million units. It now appears that there may be another color on the horizon in the form of rose gold.

The render comes from Weibo by way of SamMobile, and shows off a sleek new color rendition. While the colorway does look similar in nature to last year's S7 edge color offering, the image looks a bit suspicious. Naturally, with an image like this, one has to be a bit cautious in assuming that this is real and that it could just be an artist's interpretation of the handset.

In the past, Samsung has been known to offer many different colors and variations of its popular handsets. So while the rose gold color above might not ever come to market, you can probably be certain that something new will come about sooner or later.

Update: Unfortunately, as SlashGear pointed out, the photo is actually a fan-made image.
