Gears 5 might be releasing in September

E3 is a month away and we may already have a leak on our hands from the Microsoft camp. The leak comes in two parts, the first of which's culprit is a game rating board as usual, and this time it's from Taiwan.

As reported by Generación Xbox, a listing put on the Taiwanese organization's website has what looks to be Gears 5's box art. We see Kait from Gears of War 4 displayed front and center, who will be the main protagonist of the sequel according to its announcement back in E3 2018.

Although the listing looks to be official, the cover is most likely a placeholder or a mockup, owing to the Rating Pending symbol marked on it.

The second part of the leak also comes from Generación Xbox, which pertains to the release date, but the website cites an unknown source for this information. The report states Gears 5 will be releasing on September 10 for the Xbox One family of consoles and Windows 10 PCs.

In any case, we will have to wait until Microsoft reveals the Gears 5 box art design and release date officially to confirm all of this, and E3 2019 is probably where this will happen. Microsoft's presentation is scheduled for June 9, with the company promising to "go big" this time.
