Microsoft launches mobile apps for Xbox Game Pass

As part of its many announcements at Gamescom 2018, Microsoft is launching a new app for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. The mobile app is now available in beta form for both Android and iOS devices, and it should make it a lot easier to manage your subscription on the go.

The Xbox Game Pass app lets customers navigate the library of available game titles, discover new ones, and even start downloading them remotely so that they're ready to play as soon as you get to your Xbox One.

Aside from making it a little easier to discover new games and get them on your console even when you're not home, the app doesn't seem to introduce a whole lot that's new, at least for now. Nonetheless, being able to remotely install games seems like a valid reason to get it. If you'd like to do so, you can grab it from the Google Play Store here. iOS users will have to request a TestFlight invite using this form.

Xbox Game Pass gives players access to over 100 gaming titles on the Xbox One and it receives new content somewhat regularly. Just today, Microsoft announced the addition of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the library of games you can play if you subscribe to the service.
