The Lumia 550 - Microsoft's new entry-level Windows 10 Mobile handset - has only been available in the UK for six weeks, but it's already picked up various discounts in that time. Now, the Lumia 550 is once again being offered for less than its usual price by leading independent device retailer Carphone Warehouse.
The retailer is selling the Lumia 550 for just £49.99 on contract-free pay-as-you-go (PAYG) plans, when purchased with a new £10 PAYG SIM from Vodafone or Virgin Media, bringing the total price to £59.99. The 550 is also available from £54.99 + £10 PAYG SIM on EE and O2.
Those already on PAYG plans can upgrade to the Lumia 550 for just £39.99 on Vodafone and Virgin, or £44.99 on O2, as part of this latest deal. It's not clear exactly when these discounts will end; Carphone Warehouse simply says that the savings "must end soon".
As we reported earlier this month, you can actually get the Lumia 550 with no upfront cost on PAYG, through the 'Complete Package' plan on O2. For £20 a month, you'll get 1500 minutes, 4000 texts and 2GB of 4G data a month - but you'll have to pay for six months of service in advance to get the Lumia 550 free.
