Microsoft announced two of the games that the company will publish for the Xbox One console. The first is not much of a shock; it's Forza Motorsport 5, the next game in the popular racing simulation series from Microsoft's own in-house developer Turn 10 Studios.
The footage of the game as shown in the Xbox One clip montage showcased highly detailed car models and near photo-realistic tracks. Microsoft confirmed that Forza Motorsport 5 will be a launch title when the Xbox One is released "later this year".
The other new game comes from developer Remedy, the creators of the Max Payne and Alan Wake series. It's called Quantum Break and it appears to be a third person narrative driven title but which also has some live action elements. Indeed, Remedy claims that Quantum Break "blurs the line between television and gameplay."
As you can see in the trailer above, the game elements of Quantum Break seem similar to Remedy's previous games, at least in terms of viewpoint and tone. The live action clips center on a mysterious young girl and one of the gameplay clips shows a massive ship that seems to teleport or shift in time so that it collides with a bridge. A specific release date for Quantum Break was not announced.
Microsoft added that it will release 15 Xbox One games in the console's first year, and eight of those games will be all new original titles.
