Stable Android 8.1 Oreo rolling out for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL beta users

Earlier this week, Google announced that Android 8.1 Oreo will start rolling out for the Nexus and Pixel devices, after being tested in the developer ring.

Google is now rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL running the Android 8.1 Developer Preview 2. The update weighs around 40MB for the Pixel 2 and 43MB for the Pixel 2 XL.

The update will switch users back to the stable channel, which means that they will no longer be a part of the beta program, and won't have to first flash the device to Android 8.0 before upgrading to the regular 8.1 build.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update enables access to Pixel Visual Core on Pixel 2 smartphones for advanced image processing, it also fixes the beer and hamburger emojis, improved fingerprint sensor security and much more.
