Tesla teases "unexpected" product reveal for October

Elon Musk, A.K.A. the real-world Tony Stark, has lit a small fire via the internet. Musk, CEO of Tesla and chairman of energy company SolarCity, took to Twitter to tease some big announcements coming from both companies during the month of October.

On October 17, Tesla will reveal a surprise product to the world. This event, as Elon Musk puts it, is "unexpected by most". Musk did not comment any further on what we should expect at the event. The October 17 event will focus solely on a Tesla product that has been in development. Is it a working version of Autopilot 2.0? Is there some big news regarding the Model 3? Your guess is as good as ours at this time.

Musk also reminded us that both Tesla and SolarCity has a significant reveal event scheduled for October 28. That event is directly related to what Musk called "the world’s only vertically integrated energy company" and how it will be a game-changer in 2017. Many people have called Tesla's $2.6 billion acquisition a bailout for SolarCity since the CEO of the company is Musk's cousin, Lyndon Rive. Given Musk's enthusiasm for the upcoming event, perhaps Tesla saw what nobody else could in SolarCity.
