A few weeks ago, VLC launched a private beta for its Windows Phone app. If you were not able to join that program and want to use the app, there is good news for you.
The app is now available for anyone to download and is a welcomed addition to the Windows Phone portfolio. If you are not familiar with VLC, it's a highly popular media player that can play all kinds content in a lightweight environment.
The VLC app adds another high quality product to the Windows Phone store that the platform sorely needs. While big name apps have shown up, like Instagram, they are typically not supported that well and updates are infrequent, at best.
