You probably have never heard of Amazfit, but the company has been producing fitness wearables for a few years now. Despite its relative obscurity, Amazfit is part of Huami, which is a sub-brand of Xiaomi. While this is quite convoluted, the firm last year, released its first smartwatch, the Pace. This year, it has a more budget-friendly follow up called the Bip.
The Bip is completely different in design from the Pace, deviating from a circular shape and going with a squarish look akin to a Pebble Time 2 or Apple Watch. The device has an always-on reflective 1.28-inch color touch display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
As you can imagine, since this is a fitness wearable, it also has sensors to allow data to be collected when working out. It has an optical heart rate sensor, geomagnetic field sensor, barometer, GPS, GLONASS, and can also withstand dust and water with its IP68 rating. The firm is touting up to 30+ days of battery time on a single charge, which can extend out to 45 days with minimal incoming notifications.
As far as compatibility, the Bip can be paired with an iOS or Android device and the Amazfit app allows notifications to appear on the watch from a variety of different popular social media apps like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, WeChat, and more. The watch can also show texts, emails, and offers quite a bit under the hood for its price of $99.99. The Bip is now available for purchase in four colors - Black Onyx, Cinnabar Red, White Cloud, and Kokoda Green.
