Apple might eliminate 32GB option for the iPhone 8

Apple is gearing up for the the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, with rumors suggesting the company will offer three models, including a premium model which could cost up to $1000. A new tidbit of information has surfaced hinting at the Cupertino-based firm's intention to streamline storage options for the premium model dubbed the iPhone 8.

According to Apple Insider, TrendForce research indicates Apple is looking to shift 100 million of the high end models, while also eliminating the 32GB storage option. As such, the iPhone 8 would only come in 64GB and 256GB variants. The 7s and 7s Plus models also expected this fall are said to retain the 32GB option.

In light of reports saying the tenth anniversary edition of the smartphone could feature a front-facing camera with 3D sensing abilities as well as acquisitions which give credence to rumors of the next iPhone featuring facial recognition technology, this is certainly an interesting move.

With such an array of sensors reportedly to be included, there may be a real case to be made for the company streamlining its process of building the device to minimize potential roadblocks in production.
