Honor unveils V9 with 5.7-inch QHD display, 6GB RAM, and dual 12MP camera

It's apparent that Honor is trying to forge its own path this year. In January it announced the affordable Honor 6X for the US and a month later, it follows up with the newly revealed V9.

The Honor V9 offers a refined design with a display that melts into the side bezels. Like its most recent siblings, the V9 also comes equipped with a dual camera system. As for internals, the handset is powered by the company's latest silicon, the Kirin 960 processor and mated with either 4GB or 6GB RAM.

Full specifications of the Honor V9:

  • 5.7-inch QHD display
  • Kirin 960 processor with Mali G71MP8
  • 4GB RAM / 64GB, 6GB RAM / 64GB, 6GB RAM / 128GB (with microSD expansion)
  • 12MP + 12MP camera (dual camera) with 8MP front-facing camera
  • 4000mAh battery
  • USB Type-C
  • 157mm x 77.5mm x 6.97mm
  • Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.0

The handset will be available for sale starting at 10am on February 28 from various retailers in China. The V9 will start at ¥2599 ($377 USD) for the 4GB model and max out at ¥3499 (~$508 USD) for the 6GB RAM / 128GB variant. Honor has not made an official statement on a global offering. Although the handset is currently only available in Asia, they could decide to make this a globally offering at a later time.
