Microsoft rolls out new Office 2016 Insider Preview build for Windows

Microsoft has begun rolling out a new Insider Preview build of the May 2016 feature update for Office 2016 for Windows, bringing the build number to 16.0.6965.2051.

The new features include improvements for Excel and Skype for Business. Here's what's new:

  • Improvements to Get & Transform: In Excel, it's now easier to create a query using options from the new Online Services category, including connectors for SharePoint Online and Exchange.

  • Send messages anytime: If you use Skype for Business, you'll no longer receive annoying "this message can't be delivered" notifications when you send a message to someone who is offline.

  • More efficient online meetings: In Skype for Business, you can pre-load attachments when you set up online meeting in Outlook so that you can get started as soon as the participants join.

If you're already on the Office Insider Program, you can check for updates by opening up any Office app and going to File -> Account -> Update Options -> Update Now.

If you're not on the Office Insider Program but you want to be, log into your Office 365 account and click Install -> Language and install options -> Additional install options, select Office Insider from the dropdown list, and click Install.
