Yahoo to be the default search on Samsung phones

Not too long ago Verizon pushed a Bing icon on to the screens of Blackberry users in their network. Now Samsung is doing something similar, but with Yahoo.

VentureBeat says that beginning May, 2010 Yahoo services will be preloaded on Samsung devices. When you buy a new Samsung phone you will get Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Front Page, Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! Flickr, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Contacts, Yahoo! Calendar, and Yahoo! Weather.

Samsung makes several Android powered phones which is Google's mobile operating system. The Yahoo deal will take the Google out of Android OS for phones made by Samsung. AT&T has done something similar with the Motorola Backflip, an Android device, by replacing the default Google search with Yahoo search.
