Rumors have been making the rounds of Samsung’s Lite versions of the S10 and Note10 flagship devices. These smartphones are supposedly more affordable versions of their non-Lite counterparts, and could be very close to launching owing to sightings of support pages and FCC certifications. Now, leaked official renders provide the clearest picture of what the Note10 Lite might look like.
The images suggest that the device will sport a rectangular housing for the cameras, similar to what the S11 may use. However, unlike what the S11, the Note10 Lite might come with a triple camera system. The recently launched Galaxy A51 and A71 too sport such an arrangement, meaning that the company is moving away from the horizontal camera placement and adopting the rectangular design, similar to the ones present in the iPhone 11 and Pixel 4. The exact camera specifications are currently not known.

At the front, a centered punch-hole cutout holds a single front-facing camera like on the Note10. The device seems to ditch the curved front display in place of a more traditional flat panel. This could be due to the price point that the company is aiming to slot this device in. The relatively affordable Galaxy S10e also sports a flat display, hinting at a possible trend. Guessing from the renders, it looks like the device will be offered in at least three colors – Black, Red, and the Aura Glow tint.
However, what the Note10 Lite would not be omitting is the SPen. The SPen has been the signature feature of all of Samsung’s Note devices, and the stylus offered with the Note10 Lite may come with Bluetooth 5.1 support. This means that it could enable the phone to have a more precise understanding of the SPen’s location, allowing features such as more accurate gesture recognition or even the ability to remotely find the SPen within a certain distance.
Not much in terms of specifications is known yet about the device. Some reports suggest that the device, along with the S10 Lite, might be launched sometime in early January 2020. It will be interesting to see how the firm places this device in its line of smartphones. With devices in the Galaxy A series filling the mid-range of the portfolio, one can only guess if the Note10 Lite’s introduction is a way to bring the SPen to a larger audience.
