Glasses-free pseudo 3D browser for WP7

Are you tired of wasting valuable real-estate while surfing the web on your Windows Phone 7 device? Are you sick of using a boring flat interface when the rest of the world has three dimensions, but at the same time you don't want to look goofy with a pair of 3D glasses? Do you want a better browser than the one built into WP7? If so, then Kinabalu Innovation LTD has an application for you!

It's called the SurfCube and works like a virtual 3D cube. One face of the "cube" contains the actual webpage you're viewing. The URL bar, navigation buttons and the like are nowhere to be seen. When loading a new link, the top of the cube is displayed showing the URL while it's loading. When you want to change some of the settings, you can flip over to the right side of the cube to make changes before going back to the main face of the cube. The history is located on the left side of the cube.

The application also has some useful features such as "bandwidth saver" that can be used to download less data or even stop downloading images altogether. It supports both landscape and portrait orientation and lets you lock it in place so that you can read in any position you want.

Aside from this functionality, the application also takes advantage of the sensors in your phone to detect when you "flick" it in a specific direction. If you want to see the settings page, quickly shift your device to the left and you'll see the cube turn to that display. While it looks like a nifty feature, it's debatable whether it will really be useful after the intial "wow" factor.

A free trial version is available, and the full application costs $1.99.
