LG says it will 'set new standards' with V20, its first premium Android 7.0 Nougat phone

LG's V10, which will be replaced by the new V20 this year

LG has said that it will launch a new high-end handset next month, a successor to the V10 flagship that it announced almost a year ago.

The new V20 will be officially unveiled in September, and will be one of the first handsets to go on sale with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed. Nougat has been available as a series of Developer Previews over the last few months, for a limited range of devices. A recent report claimed that the new OS will begin its general rollout this month.

LG appears to have high hopes for the V20, claiming that it will "set new standards in the premium phone" space, offering "expanded multimedia capabilities".

The V10 certainly raised a few eyebrows last year, thanks to its unusual secondary display above the main screen, and dual front-facing cameras. It will be interesting to see what the company has in store for its successor.
