Rainbow Six Siege mid-season update modifies Kapkan, Blitz, and more

Ubisoft's tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, received the Operation Blood Orchid update back in September, and its already time for its Mid-Season Reinforcements update to arrive.

As with most major Siege updates, this one also comes with some Operator reworks. The biggest changes seem to be for the Russian Operator Kapkan, with his laser trip mines now dealing damage depending on the armor level of opponents instead of outright killing them. However, the mine's laser will now be much harder to spot, and Kapkan's movement rate has been improved to be a 2-speed Operator.

Next, the number of Grzmot concussion mines that the Polish Operator, Ela, carried has been cut-down from four to three. Moreover, as the developer had found her Scorpion SMG to be too powerful, its recoil has been altered to be more challenging.

Meanwhile, the German shield carrying Operator, Blitz, has gained the ability to sprint while holding his shield up. Blitz players should have an easier time closing in on opponents to get the shield flash off from now on.

Beyond that, the update is bringing a number of network improvements that should help in lowering hit registration issues as well, especially ones that are latency related. As this is a hotly debated problem within the community, a developer blog explaining the issues and what measures have been taken to fix them can be read here.

The full list of changes and bug fixes arriving with the update, as well as a look at the new Elite Jäger set is available on the official update page on the Rainbow Six website. The Rainbow Six Siege Blood Orchid Mid-Season Reinforcements update will arrive on October 26 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
