Samsung is set to roll out a 5G variant of the Galaxy A51 in the U.S. beginning this week. The device was originally announced in April along with its standard version and other Galaxy A handsets.
The South Korean tech giant announced today that the Galaxy A51 5G will be available first via T-Mobile on August 7 and on Metro later. From August 13, the phone will also be up for grabs from Verizon. Samsung will announce the phone's availability on other retailers and carriers in the near future.
The device is the latest in the Galaxy A lineup to receive the 5G treatment in the country after Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 5G in June for $599.99. Featuring some specs that are slightly less impressive than those of the A71 5G, the A51 5G will be priced starting at $499.99.
It sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. It also has a quad-camera setup on the back which includes a 48MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a depth and macro camera. It also has 128GB of onboard storage that's expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card slot. The handset is powered by an Exynos 980 processor and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 15W fast charting support.
