As we get closer to the launch date of the OnePlus 5, more details about the handset have started to surface. While specifications and knowing what the device will look like are all well and good, the crown jewel of leaks as far as OnePlus devices are concerned, is its price. With a little less than two weeks to go, it appears that a promotional giveaway might have given us a price for the upcoming handset.
According to an eagle-eyed OnePlus forum user, it appears that a OnePlus 5 will be given away as part of prize package. The prize will consist of two VIP tickets to Provinssi, one of Finland’s largest music festivals and a OnePlus 5. Generally, with promotions like these, a value must be disclosed for the items and it appears that the total value of this prize pack is €948. Now, if we do a bit of work and look up the pricing for VIP tickets to the event, we can see that one ticket costs €199. By subtracting the cost of two VIP tickets from the total prize value, it gives the OnePlus 5 a value of €550.
While we won't know for sure until its official release, it appears that the pricing for the next handset will be considerably higher than its predecessor. For now, we will have to wait just a while longer until the handset is officially revealed on June 20.
