You might want to check your screen if you're buying a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+

Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are set to launch in the next few days in the United States, but those in South Korea who pre-ordered have already gotten their hands on retail units and are finding that there is something a bit off with the display.

According to numerous reports that have been posted online, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are experiencing issues where a red hue or tint is present on the display. While many believe that this is a defect, Samsung has stated that this is simply a settings issue and can be adjusted. According to an anonymous Samsung representative "it’s possible that the company did not have the time to properly set the color balance due to the extremely high demand". Regardless, users who want to test this out for themselves can dial *#7353# and choose TSP Dot Mode to verify whether their handset suffers from the issue.

Naturally, it will be interesting to see whether this same issue arises when the devices officially make their retail debut on April 21 in the US and April 28 in Europe. If you experience this issue, you can always adjust the settings manually by dialing *#15987#. Otherwise, it's probably best to just return or exchange the unit until you get something better.
